We saw a loon on Raystown on the north end (Snyders) on Friday. It was diving and feeding. We also see them on Glendale Lake every spring.
They need a fair-sized body of water to take off from, and I couldn't imagine one landing on the local stretch of the Juniata unless forced down in extreme weather. As you'll see tomorrow, it takes some doing to spot one migrating down the ridge.
